The REMIX eyewear collection celebrates those brave enough to touch the untouchable, those that reinterpret and reuse rather than just preserve. We selected some of our most iconic glasses and sunglass models - like BIBLIO and CHIPS & SALSA and reconstructed them. Torunn Gullaksen - designer at Kaibosh - takes us behind the scenes in the making of the AW 2015 eyewear collection.

REMIX IT UP
We looked to architect I.M. PEI (check him out!), and how he reconstructed Musée de Louvre. The way he tweaked this historically important site into a piece of modern architecture by adding new materials and a contrasting construction.
So we thought: Why don´t we take the very best from our current collection and remix them, tuning them in for next season? So we turned the volume up! We deconstructed and reconstructed our finest - adding metal and swapping our trade-mark matt finish for a new shiny look.
The two 1.5mm round metal bars build a bridge between the acetate fronts. The metal bar slides perfectly into two metal holsters. The middle bar harks back to the original shape - on BIBLIO the original model was designed with a key-hole bridge - so we bent the metal bar into a key shape. Attention to detail is always at the centre of our design - and we know our customers have an eye for detail too.
Other details you´ll notice are our petite 5 barrel pin hinge on ROUND & ROUND REMIX - hotstamped printing and the frosted finish on both sides of our wirecores peeking through on our transparent colourways. You might notice some other details as you get to know your product better - but I won´t tell you now.
The colours are inspired by autumn and the Scandinavian´s reluctance to move to the charming winter. So there are fighting contrasts between gloomy and glowing. Colours like White, Honey Glaze, Crystal, and Turtle are those of lingering summer memories, whilst Black, Bordeaux, Camo, Mid Havana, Wet Forest Green and Midnight Blue lure you into the winter mood. Which side of Autumn you are on is up to you.
Anna Massa - marketing manager at Kaibosh - talks about the making of the Remix campaign... We wanted to explore what classic v. modern stands for - and what feminine v. masculine means by recombining and re-editing natural elements. Jakob and Hannah, were an easy choice for us for the AW15 campaign because of their own real and unique identities. Jakob is beautifully handsome and handsomely beautiful. Hannah is how we see the modern female type of beauty. At the end of our journey we interpreted the idea of remix by mixing our campaign images together to add an extra dimension. Hannah together with Jakob became our unique imperfectly perfect effortless beauty.
The creative team behind the AW15 campaign are our talented friends at Tableau Paper directed by Tove Sivertsen and Henia Gamborg.
